My "Family Appreciation" weekend in pictures

The big event this weekend was the Super Bowl. I only know one true Kansas City Chiefs fan. My cousin John has been a chiefs fan since we were kids. I visited John and his family in Portland, Oregon a few months ago. Congratulations cousin! Maybe my first trip to the Pacific Northwest brought your team some luck. I'm calling this my "Family Appreciation" weekend because the most heart warming moments happen when you least expect it. Saturday Miss Gracie was playing with her dolls and Play Dough at the kitchen table. This happens almost everyday at my house. It's always fun to watch her and ask her what she's making. What she was doing this Saturday was truly adorable. She had all of her dolls comfortably tucked in their beds and she made their blankets from her play dough. That little scene made my weekend. I also enjoyed taking Gracie and Christopher to McDonald's for a little while on Saturday. My weekend home project was getting the fluorescent lights working in the man cave downstairs. It's been years since they've worked and I haven't missed them. Softer lights from my lamps is better but sometimes we do need more light. Now they're working and all the dust we saw shocked me. So I had to dust everything right away. Then it was upstairs to cook sliders and my boozy bourbon chicken wings to enjoy before the big game. The sliders didn't last but I did save a few wings for afternoon guy Steve Allan to try. If you ask me, yesterday's wings were the best I ever made.
