There's an "Open N.J. Rally" today at Newton Green

Today there will be an "Open New Jersey" rally from Noon to 2 pm on the Newton Green. Barbara Holstein of Montague and James Baldini of Sandyston organized today's rally. Their supporters say Governor Murphy is re-opening New Jersey too slowly with Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations falling fast. Under the governor's plan non essential businesses can't open their doors until June 15th and hair salons will have to wait until June 22nd. Baldini told the New Jersey Herald: "It's been long enough and the re-opening of a business should be left up to the business and it's patrons." He said Florida is a good example. The state re-opened May 4th with limited indoor dining and park visits. Meanwhile, in a joint press release yesterday 24th district state legislators called out Governor Murphy for having: "A do as I say, not as I do attitude." State Senator Steve Oroho and Assemblymen Parker Space and Hal Wirths said: "Governor Murphy's participation in weekend protests defies logic when New Jersey businesses are being told it's too dangerous for them to open their doors."
