My Epic Weekend In Pictures: Fun All Over

This may not have been one of my most Epic Weekends In Pictures, but that's fine with me. I've been lucky to have so much Epic fun all this year already. I enjoyed chill nights in Vernon, while venturing out to Rockaway Mall and Lake Hopatcong. Little bit of this, little bit of that. Friday night I had planned in stone to hang at Jasen and Brendan's for chinese food. This was my first time having chinese food in a couple of years and it didn't disappoint. We did Eastern Garden on 23. I did beef teriyaki (which they refer to as "beef on sticks." While they're not wrong at all with their description, can't we stick to the classier sounding beef teriyaki? I did beef teriyaki with boneless spareribs and was psyched with the results. Fantastic Friday night meal. I joked with Brendan "be proud! I looked up their menu ahead of time online and am actually eating at night, look at me go!" We had a great Friday night in and that was just what the doctor ordered for me. Busy busy week at work (stuff breaking, me fixing, stuff breaking again, me fixing again, lol.) Friday afternoon when I could send things out to help our stations sound better as opposed to fixing breaking things was honestly therapeutic and fun.

Only bummer Friday night was getting a text from my massage therapist Elaine that she had to cancel my weekend appointment. My neck and shoulders were so sore/tight from stress, that is where I always carry it. I'm beyond blessed to be able to see Trinity Rehab in Sparta every Monday to give maintenance to my mess neck and shoulders. Saturday I was desperate, so I went to The Rockaway Mall. They were able to help me a little bit, at least I wasn't in agonizing pain anymore after my 30 minute mall massage.

I then went to Miller's Ale House again after my massage. I didn't eat this time, just had a beer that made me feel rather conflicted. I had my first Sam Adams Summer Ale of the season. I'm not a fan of how early they release their seasonal craft beers. I mean we aren't even close to summertime yet! That being said, I justified it because it was baseball's opening weekend. Their bartender probably got a good chuckle as I was debating it aloud amongst myself. She was probably smart to be so busy and not have to deal with me being a whacko.

Overall I enjoyed myself at Rockaway Mall. I was then able to swing by The Irish Cottage Inn in Franklin on my way back from Rockaway. I was able to see some of our regular friends, Shannon, Paul Marino, Danny Barr, Margie, Artie, Mayor Paul, Rob and Kathy. They were impressed I was able to get all of us in my big group selfie.

I was happy to have a quiet Saturday night in watching March Madness Men's College Basketball. I didn't watch as many games as I normally do, but the ones I was able to catch were usually fantastic, exciting games.

Sunday morning time for me to go to Pro Cutters in Franklin and see my personal stylist, Jennifer. She was able to give me a much needed fantastic haircut. I usually go every 3 weeks, this time around 4 weeks. I joked that I was Afroman.

Sunday late morning I went to Lake Hopatcong on a whim. I hadn't been there in a minute, and it's one of the most beautiful spots we have in New Jersey. While I didn't run into one friend I was hoping to surprise, I ran into an old friend named April at Alice's. They had the Easter Bunny, and I was able to take a selfie with him while holding my beer. That's why you're hearing me on the radio joke today that I had a beer with the Easter Bunny this weekend. Even though it was definitely very windy at Lake Hopatcong, it was still absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous views all around as far as my eyes could see.

Sunday I then went to Pine Island Tap House and enjoyed a beer there. By the afternoon, I tried smoking a cigar that I've had for a few months. It was a mistake. I smoked maybe a quarter of it and I immediately got dehydrated from it. Between that and my allergies, I was just a couch potato after that.

If you're suffering from allergies this past week like many of my friends are, hang in there. Hopefully everything can keep bouncing / sprucing up and we won't be getting crushed as much from our allergies.

Overall I had a terrific weekend. I hope you had a great weekend. Time to start planning next weekend. Easter weekend, and I've already had a beer with the Easter Bunny. Last year I treated myself to a steak. We'll see what I come up with this year for sure. I have some ideas - which isn't always a good thing LOL.
