Parts of the Northeast are bracing for more rain to end the week. The National Weather Service says a high-impact flood event could impact millions of people in the tri-state area today. As much as an inch of rain per hour is possible, as well as flash flooding. A flood watch has been issued across New Jersey thru Saturday morning, with total rainfall of between 2 and 4 inches- with some areas having the possibility of 6 inches or more of rain. Several thousand are without power in the state.

Governor Phil Murphy is warning drivers and residents of flash flooding and river flooding in the northern and central part of the state. He's reminding folks never to drive or walk through flooded roads. Murphy says he is hoping New Jersey Transit will be able to keep trains and buses rolling.

Heavy rain is also likely in Connecticut and New York.
