For the fourth consecutive year, NJ Transit has been acknowledged as an exceptional place to work. This year, the agency earned a spot on the 2024 Forbes America’s Best Employers List as one of the best large employers nationwide. This recognition follows their recent win of the 2023 American Public Transportation Association award for Outstanding Public Transportation System amongst major transit systems in North America.

Governor Phil Murphy expressed his pride in NJ Transit’s latest achievement. He emphasized that this honor signifies NJ Transit is not only a world-class public transportation system but also a national leading employer. He praised the agency for prioritizing the growth, satisfaction, and inclusion of its employees.

NJ Transit President & CEO Kevin S. Corbett echoed the Governor’s sentiments. He appreciated Forbes’ independent evaluation and recognition of the agency’s efforts over the past six years to cultivate a culture of excellence, inclusiveness, and employee satisfaction. He stated that this acknowledgment reaffirms the agency's status as a preferred employer in the region and is a tribute to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of their organization.

The 2024 Forbes America’s Best Employers List was generated from independent surveys of more than 170,000 U.S. employees working for companies employing at least 1,000 people. NJ Transit ranked 178 out of all large employers nationwide and placed in the top eight of all employers in the "Transportation and Logistics" industry.

The final score was determined based on two categories of evaluations: personal and public. Personal evaluations were given by the employees themselves, while public evaluations were provided by friends, family members, or peers in the same industry.
