Steve Andrews weekend in 5 pictures

I knew Saturday was going to be a very busy day. Which is exactly how it turned out to be. I planned on a relaxing Sunday. However, in the long run Sunday will be the real day of accomplishment.

Saturday morning I was the moderator for our first ever Sussex County Freeholder Town Hall Meeting in our live performance studio.  It was great to have so many good questions from our studio audience. To be honest it would have been nice to have more people come out. On the positive side the people who did come out were very positive and engaged. The live broadcast went smoothly. Which indicates to me that we will be doing more of these for next year's local elections.

After the town hall meeting my family celebrated my grand daughter's 3rd birthday. I just don't know where the time has gone. Did I really become a grandpa three years ago. I shared the cooking duties with Gracie's dad and my son Matt.  We made Chicken Parm, Sausage and Peppers and Baked Ziti. Just about all of the food was gone when the party was over. A sure sign our family and friends enjoyed it.

My daughter Kim did a wonderful job making the house was nicely decorated and making sure Gracie had the perfect cake. She and her boyfriend even handled most of the clean up. My only regret is that I didn't have enough time to spend with all of our guests. I guess that happens when you have a good turn out.

On Sunday my plan was not to do very much. However, after I woke up early and then realized it was even an hour earlier I felt a little motivated. As I watched my daughter go through her normal routine of changing and getting Gracie breakfast a thought entered my head.  Two of my kids were potty trained by their third birthday. So I told my daughter I was buying a potty chair for Gracie for her birthday. I've always been practical. Trust me, Gracie as plenty of toys.

We bought the potty chair and put on a You Tube video made for toddlers who are potty training. At first Gracie was putting some of her dolls on the potty. Which was actually pretty funny. Then we convinced Gracie to give the potty a try herself. After several more tries we got results! After much hoopla Gracie made pee pee the potty several more times.  We are still working on number two. Still, that was awesome progress.
