Three people were killed at the Delta Gas Station on Route 23 in Wayne yesterday morning. The horrible accident happened just before 9 o'clock. I heard about this accident on my way home from work around noon. This morning a story on NJ.COM says the person responsible is from Vernon. Many Sussex County residents travel through Wayne on Route 23 on their way to Route 80 and Route 46 every morning. The accident took place after most of the morning commute was over.
Police have charged 29 year old Jason Vanderee of Glenwood with three counts each of aggravated manslaughter, death by auto and death by auto while driving intoxicated. The Passaic County Prosecutors Office has also charged Vanderee with several drug related charges.
Vanderee allegedly plowed into three cars at the gas station driving at an excessive speed. Three people were pronounced dead at the scene including the gas attendant 22 year old Lovedeep Fatra from Pequannock. 50 year old Jon Warbeck and his 17 year old son from Lincoln Park. Several other people were injured
