I've seen first hand the difference our annual Stuff the Bus campaign makes in Sussex County. There are many other organizations that also help make sure the Sussex County Division of Social Services food pantry has enough Thanksgiving turkeys each year. That means about 600 turkeys are needed. This year will be different. My friend Carol Novrit who is the Director of the Sussex County Department of Human Services told the New Jersey Herald one annual donation of 300 frozen turkeys won't be coming this year. I Heart Media's "Stuff the Bus" campaign and local police departments "Cram the Cruiser" campaign account for several hundred donated turkeys each year. Which gets the food pantry to the 600 needed. So this year we are hoping to make up for the 300 turkeys that won't be coming. This Friday our "Stuff the Bus" preview begins at The Homestead Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. I'll be broadcasting live from noon to 2. Then next Friday (Nov 22nd) 1023 WSUS will be at First Hope Bank in Andover all day. On Saturday and Sunday November 23rd and 24th we'll be at the Shop Rite stores in Franklin, Newton, Byram and Sparta all day. If you have a frozen turkey you can donate right now you can also drop it off at the Sussex County Division of Social Services Office on Trinity Street in Newton.
