The holiday season was one of the busiest ever for me. It's hard to believe after many Christmas celebrations putting presents under the tree for 4 kids this past holiday season could be so tiring. The reality is, over the years, kids move out and friends and family spread out. So as I've gotten older the holiday season has meant more traveling. Of course, 1023 WSUS had a very busy December too with our Kids Christmas Concert Series and winter storms. On New Year's Day we took down the Christmas decorations. So the only thing on my agenda this weekend was my daughter Kim's 26th birthday on Saturday. We recently discovered Kim has a gluten allergy. A month ago she just had a baby too. I wanted to take her out to a nice lunch for her birthday. Kim just wanted to relax at home. She requested grilled chicken, with gluten free pasta and veggies. So that's what she got. Saturday night I made my favorite meal grilled cheese, bacon and tomato sandwiches. Of course, the two I made for Kim were on Gluten free bread. The other "big event" this weekend was going to Walmart to pick up salt for the water softener and some cold cuts. My new grandson Christopher slept through the whole adventure. The rest of the weekend was very quiet for me and that was perfectly fine. I was able to help with feeding Christopher. He even feel asleep in my arms just like my kids used to do. I don't think there's a more wonderful feeling than having a tiny baby sleeping in your arms. Christopher already snores. One of his grandpa's traits.
