New Jersey State Trooper Thomas D'Alessio has been charged with aggravated assault by Jersey City Police after pointing his hand gun at another driver. According to the criminal complaint and the other driver's attorney the incident took place on Wayne Street and Mill Road on December 20th. The trooper's actions were a result of road rage. D'Alessio was not in uniform and did not identify himself as a police officer. The victim claims D'Alessio pointed his hand gun at his face and and banged the butt end of the gun into his vehicle. The confrontation took place after the two drivers had some kind of interaction on the New Jersey Turnpike. D'Alessio has been a state trooper since 2015. The other driver works for the Port Authority. A New Jersey State Police spokesman told the Jersey Journal D'Alessio is currently suspended without pay.
