Hopefully, you're trying to support our local restaurants by ordering take out or having meals delivered. I've always been a dine in person. I love to relax with whoever I'm with and drink coffee too. Whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner: I take home what I can't finish. Most people, myself included, can't afford to order take out all the time but when I do the same practice applies. What I don't eat the first time gets put in the refrigerator for a later time. So what can a person do to make their take out left overs last longer? Here are some simple tips that will help you throw out less and enjoy more. 1) Put what you are not going to eat in the refrigerator right away. 2) If you like sandwiches order cured meats instead of fried. Prosciutto, salami and pastrami can last up to 10 days if kept refrigerated. 3) If you like pasta, have the restaurant put the sauce in a separate container. It won't take long for the pasta to get mushy if it's stored in the sauce. 4) Separate each left over into a different container. The smaller the better. Use one for meat, one for potato and one for the veggie.
