Two Hamilton Township police officers arrived at the scene of a fire before firefighters late Tuesday Night. Then climbed an unstable wood stairway on the side of a building, got to the roof and entered an apartment. Where they discovered a young family sleeping. The family was unaware of the fire raging on porch in front of their apartment. Patrol Officers Mike Stefanelli and Anthony Lucidi then lead the parents and their three year old child out of the apartment to safety. One of the officers carried the child while the other assisted her parents. The community learned of the heroic police officers from a letter the police chief wrote to the department yesterday. His letter was later posted on line.
