A report in yesterdays Wall Street Journal says Amazon is looking to use closed Sears and J.C. Penny stores as potential fulfillment centers. While brick and mortar stores like Sears and J.C. Penny have been closing and filing for bankruptcy. Amazon's business has exploded. While many of the country's small businesses and malls were forced to close. Amazon's sales increased more than 40 percent from April to June of 2020. Yesterday's report in the Wall Street Journal says Simon Property Group, the largest mall operator in the U.S. is currently in talks with Amazon. There are 13 Simon owned shopping malls in New Jersey including Rockaway Townsquare Mall. The article did not list specific store locations Amazon was interested in. Amazon has not commented on the story.
