It was pretty gross, but 20 year old Donna Paysepar did it anyway. Last week Donna and her family left on a friend's boat from Port Washington on Long Island. They stopped in front of the Statue of Liberty for lunch. That's when Donna decided to jump into the long polluted water for a quick dip. She was very excited to be that close to Miss Liberty and thought her 10 second video would attract lots of social media attention. So far it certainly has. Donna's video has been viewed over 2 million times and has over 244,000 likes. So she's pretty famous for now. I was pretty grossed out by what she did and so were many others. The Hudson River is much cleaner than it used to be but it's still not exactly pristine. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation says anyone who winds up in the Hudson she not put their heads under water. Which is exactly what Donna did when she dove in off the boat. I wonder how many other people will now try the same thing.
