It's normal for little kids to want mommy to do everything with them. Up until this weekend my grand daughter Gracie was always reluctant to go anywhere with me by herself. I took a vacation day on Friday and Plan A was to take my daughter and grand kids to The Land of Make Believe. Then at the last minute Kim had to work. So I asked Miss Gracie if she wanted to go with me by herself to the amusement/water park. Much to my surprise she said "yes!" You don't know unless you ask right. So we had a great day together. I'm terrified of heights but went on the Ferris Wheel. So it was a real milestone day for me too. Now she knows she can go other places with grandpa and everything will be fine. It's been a long summer for her. Gracie's been out of school since March and it's been taking a toll on her. I think Friday lifted both of our spirits. The rest of the weekend was pretty good too. Christopher is now crawling very fast. Every time I open my bedroom door he crawls as fast as he can to explore the new territory. It's hilarious. On Saturday I started to clear my vegetable garden. It's been a disappointing year. It got too hot too soon. The last of the peppers and tomatoes looked pretty good. On Sunday my son Matt and his fiance' Jessica stopped by with a very nice gift for me and Steve Allan. Jess made us our own personalized WSUS Face masks with her Cricket machine. They looked great! Then I tried something new for Sunday dinner. I defrosted the corned beef that was in the freezer and made fresh pea soup with Goya split pea. The combination was fantastic!
