Project Self Sufficiency isn't going to let Covid-19 stand in the way of a wonderful annual tradition. This year the Season of Hope Holiday Toy Drive will be happening. Hopefully, over 2,000 toys will be distributed to kids in Sussex County and Northern Warren County who might not have anything under their Christmas Tree without it. This years toy drive will be different than previous years. Soft toys and stuffed animals cannot be accepted because they are difficult to disinfect. Toy drop off boxes will not be at area business because of indoor limits on capacity. Instead Project Self Sufficiency is accepting all donations at their campus on Mill Street in Newton across from S.C.C.C. The best donation to make this year will be a gift card. New unwrapped toys are still being accepted. Project Self Sufficiency has already started to accept donations because this year the distribution of donated toys and gift cards is starting in November. Parents will be picking up toys for their kids at Project Self Sufficiency instead shopping for toys inside the toy shop. Since the distribution of the toys and gift cards is starting much sooner. Donations of gift cards and toys are needed much earlier. For more information about how and where to donate or receive toys visit Project Self Sufficiency dot org. I spoke with Lisa Pachnos from Project Self Sufficiency yesterday. I'll be airing part of the interview this morning and the full interview tomorrow morning on 1023 WSUS.
