CKO Kick Boxing owner's case against Murphy sent to Appellate Court

Sussex County Superior Court Judge Stuart Minkowitz gave Franklin gym owner Darlene Pallay a partial victory last week when he reinstated her case against Governor Murphy. Pallay's lawsuit claims the governor should have appointed an Emergency Compensation Board when he ordered non essential businesses to close. She says her rights under the 5th and 14th Amendments were violated. Pallay's attorney's wanted her case heard by Judge Minkowitz. Instead, he said the proper venue to hear cases involving limits to the governor's authority. The state Attorney General's Office is representing the governor. The Appellate Court and State Attorney General's Office share the same office building in Trenton. Which is why Pallay's attorney petitioned for the case to be heard in Sussex County. Last week Pallay announced that she has been forced to close her business CKO Kick Boxing in Franklin.
