$1 Million in stolen heavy equipment and illegal guns seized in Frankford

The Bergen County Prosecutors Office considered Nicholas Demaio a person of interest in their investigation of stolen heavy equipment before his arrest on Tuesday. He was finally caught when he tried to sell some of the heavy equipment he had stolen on line. When police raided the property Demaio was renting near the Sussex County Fairgrounds. They discovered a stolen back hoe, bull dozer and other heavy equipment valued at $1 Million dollars. Police also discovered two semi automatic rifles, a pistol and ammunition. The heavy equipment was allegedly taken from a construction site in Hackensack. The Bergen County Prosecutors had been investigating the thefts for 6 months.
