Toll increases approved for Milford Bridge and several others

Since the Coronavirus lockdowns began over a year ago fewer people have been commuting to work across the Delaware River each day. Toll revenues collected to maintain Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission bridges has gone down. One of those bridges is the Milford/Montague Bridge. So this week the commission voted to increase the tolls all 7 bridges that collect tolls. The increase will pay for up keep of all 20 DRJTC bridges. Beginning Sunday April 11th the toll for EZ Pass customers crossing into Pennsylvania will increase from $1 to $1.25. Cash customers (who don't have EZ Pass) will pay a much larger increase. They're toll will go up a full $2. Starting April 11th it will cost them $3 to enter Pennsylvania. This is the first time tolls have gone up in more than 10 years. Another toll increase that takes effect in 2024 was also approved by commissioners. EZ Pass customers will see their toll go from $1.25 to $1.50. The toll increases do not impact the Dingman's Ferry Bridge because it is still privately owned.
