The Franklin Carnival will be different this year but it will be happening next week. The dates for the annual tradition at the Franklin Pond will be Wednesday May 12th through Sunday May 16th. Since it is the responsibility of the company that runs the carnival to make sure capacity limits are followed the only way to get in this year will be to purchase admission tickets in advance. Tickets are $2 dollars and can be purchased on line. Campy's Amusements is running the carnival this year. The website to purchase advance tickets at is campys.com. Through it's history the Franklin Carnival has been held at different times. When I first started going in the 1980's and 90's it was held July 4th weekend. The fireworks on Saturday Night were always worth the trip to enjoy. A few years ago the carnival was moved to September because it was less costly to hire a carnival operator after peak summer season. Next year let's hope we are totally back to normal when the Franklin Carnival takes place. For now this is a step in the right direction. I hope many families in our area have a chance to have some fun together and enjoy it.
