This Saturday Branchville will celebrate it's 200th birthday. The town has a history that dates back to the 1700's. It was officially named Branchville back in 1821. The celebration will start at 6:30 at the municipal building. Which used to be the Branchville School. Barnyard Restaurant will be there with a food truck. At 7:30 a time capsule buried during the town's 150th birthday celebration will be opened. The evening will conclude with fireworks at 9PM. A week long celebration had been planned. The bicentennial committee decided to scale down events because of Covid-19. Branchville has 773 residents. For many years I hosted the Miss Branchville Contest. Residents still have a wonderful amount of community pride. The Branchville Pharmacy photo goes back to 1950. Happy Birthday Branchville!
