It's been called "the bullpen" for as long as anyone can remember. The place where baseball pitchers warm up before coming into the game. Now with the World Series going on People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is asking baseball to give the bullpen another name. PETA says a bullpen is also the place "where terrified bulls are kept before the slaughter." They're suggesting a more modern family friendly alternative "arm barn." I don't always agree with PETA but in this case I don't see any harm in changing the name of the bullpen to something else. I'm just not sure about "arm barn." How about "pitchers place" or maybe "relievers retreat?" We could also just leave it up to each team to give their bullpen a unique new name. On the other hand. Are there any cows out there who watch baseball?
