This was definitely an Epic Weekend we won't forget anytime soon. While a cynic might say my Epic Weekend In Pictures involved many of my usual suspects, ie wings and football, there were some new adventures mixed in throughout the weekend. We will start my Epic Weekend In Pictures with Friday afternoon, where I had a very important job to do. Friday afternoon I snuck out of the office for a couple of hours to drop off boxes. These special, important boxes are for our annual Stuff The Bus Food Drive. While we go full fledged radiothon mode the weekend before Thanksgiving, you don't have to wait until then to help us. That's why we have drop off locations in live mode from November first all the way up until Sunday afternoon before Thanksgiving. This one is even more special to me this year as I'm turning 40 on Thanksgiving Day. The thought that so many local Sussex County families will have a better Thanksgiving on my birthday because of little things we do like dropping off boxes, it makes me smile from ear to ear. While the scotch tape I was using broke my thumbnail and gave me a hard time, it was well worth it in the end.
While I was at ShopRite Of Sparta, luck was definitely on my side. I was able to get some shopping done for my quiet, Friday night in. I was able to basically get a spread of meats wrapping around mozzarella cheese. Even though I'm an absolute freak who doesn't like cheese, I can still eat cheese on pizza, calzones, and fresh mozzarella balls. I figured this spread would look pretty cool, and give me my best chance of success. It was a cold, rainy Friday night, so a relaxing night on my deck was out of the question. All good. There's nothing like a nice, quiet Fall Friday night in, right? It was great to rest and recharge, just watching Friends and Seinfeld reruns with my new friend. Both The Friends and Seinfeld reruns were of course hilarious cracking both of us up all night. What's better than a Friday night where you can recharge and laugh? Not much! It brought back so many fond 90s and early 00s memories of when as families all across America we were all watching NBC's Must See TV lineup of Friends and Seinfeld. Talk about nostalgia!
Saturday morning I had a mission. Not that it's out of the norm for me to crave hot wings when I wake up, or even eat them, LOL, but I was more specific with my vision this time around. It's been a few months since I have enjoyed the spicy garlic sauce over at Jimmy Geez. This brings a powerful kick and punch, with a little bit of sweetness in its aftertaste. Plus once I get that far down 23, it's not much further for me to see if I can get a lucky score at Marshall's and / or TJ Maxx. While I struck out at Marshall's, all good. I did score on a gray Calvin Klein sweater shirt that's very similar to one I've had for years that has stretched out a little bit. Over the past few years, I've made a concerted effort to throw away an article of clothing if I buy something new. I already have too many clothes LOL. Just ask my Mother, Madre. Every time she visits me here in Jersey I task her with reorganizing my closet for me. This helps me tremendously staying organized, and also gives her a project so she doesn't move all my stuff on me. I've spent many minutes looking for various things. Last time I think it was my cigar cutter. She moved it from my counter where it's been for almost 8 years, to on my new whiskey bourbon barrel. The move made total sense and I get it, just wasn't aware until I called her LOL.
Saturday afternoon after a successful victory stop at TJ Maxx down 23, I then ventured back up 23 to Jimmy Geez. They have a sweet bartender there who's not only a terrific bartender, she always remembers me! I'm only there once every few months, but she knows I'm there to get their spicy garlic sauce to go. I cracked her up when she asked if I wanted a half pint or full pint of the sauce? I said "I'll go for the full pint, because they're not selling it by the gallon yet, right? She cracked up and said no, they aren't. I told her that's probably a good thing to protect me from myself, LOL. I enjoyed my pretzel bites with seasoned fries, intentionally spending $2 more on the fries hoping they would give me a little kick so I wouldn't have to open the jar of spicy garlic hot sauce before leaving the bar.
Saturday afternoon I enjoyed the thrilling college football game where Michigan State defeated Michigan. They're fierce rivals, and it was so much fun watching all the energy from almost 100K screaming fans. I then tried to take a quick nap, because I don't do well with late nights.
Saturday night, time to party woot woot. Our annual NNJ White Claw Halloween Howl. It was pretty much set it and forget it on our end. We had fun running into some friends we hadn't seen in awhile too. The White Claws were of course delicious and hit the spot.
Sunday I honestly had fun cruising around enjoying the increasing Fall Foliage. Fall Foliage is one of my favorite parts of living in the Northeast. I would miss it terribly if I lived in another region. I enjoyed not one but two Starbucks Shaken Iced Green Tea. I don't remember as well to drink enough water on the weekends, so this is my life hack for that. It's basically 32 ounces of flavored water. I highly recommend it when you're in weekend mode and maybe don't remember to drink as much water during the week. It helps me big time.
Sunday early afternoon I enjoyed time with my friends at The Irish Cottage in Franklin. That's usually where I enjoy football Sunday when my Patriots aren't on TV. In this case, with the Patriots being the nationally televised 4:00pm game, this meant I could watch the game on my couch, and make wings. Did I really make wings? Okay, I baked prebreaded frozen tenders and put each one of them in my pint of spicy garlic hot sauce from Jimmy Geez. Steve Andrews and most others would tell you that is not me "making wings." Look, the first two years I lived here I never even turned my oven on a single time. I want to focus on my progress and growth!
Sunday afternoon I had fun with my wings and watching The Patriots game. I was very happy to see them win out in LA against the talented Chargers team. Definitely the biggest win for my Patriots this year, and it looks like they're starting to get better as a team too.
I was in bed early before the 8pm game because I filled in for Steve Andrews on our 102.3 WSUS Morning Show. Yep, you're in luck to get a double dose of me today both my afternoon show and the morning show. Fortunately I had an Epic Weekend to talk about on the radio today LOL.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Time to start planning next weekend, and it'll have me go up to New England for my first time in several months for a wedding in Springfield, MA. Bring. It. On.
