No one will ever forget the thousands of tragic COVID deaths at New Jersey long term care facilities in April of 2020. Andover Sub Acute made national news with the number of deaths that occurred in a short period of time. There simply was not enough staff to prevent the spread of the virus and care for patients at the same time. It took several weeks to call in the National Guard to help. This week the Sussex County Commissioners decided to act before another tragedy happens. As another serious outbreak begins at the Andover facility the Commissioners requested and received immediate help from the New Jersey National Guard. In a press release from the commissioner's office Deputy Director Anthony Fasano said: " We believed it was prudent to get them the help they needed before there was a crisis."
