A pedestrian was killed by train in Port Jervis yesterday morning

Sunday Morning first responders were called to the scene of a fatal train strike in the City of Port Jervis. At around 9 in the morning a Metro North Train hit a pedestrian only a few blocks from the train station. Metro North and Port Jervis Police are investigating. Authorities would not say if the victim was a man or woman. Train service was restored by 11 in the morning. The train hit the pedestrian near Fowler Street and the historic Erie Depot.
