My Epic Weekend In Pictures: Loving Where I Live

This was certainly a weekend I won't be forgetting anytime soon. We will start off first and foremost reporting to you that my adorable puppy Adopt A Pet Of The Week was adopted within 24 hours of being on my radio show. Thank you! Whoever adopted Dallas is hitting a grand slam home run. He definitely checks all boxes, that's for sure. I was very happy to learn that Friday night. I then met a friend for a margarita at Chili's in Riverdale on Route 23. I got off to a shaky start by trying to order a pomegranate margarita even though there wasn't one listed on the menu. Unfortunately they didn't have anything to make one, so I just ordered a classic Presidente margarita. I will say the ambiance there did impress me, it was much more cozy than I honestly expected. You know how sometimes chains can just feel cold and generic? This didn't feel that way at all.

I then capped my Friday off with a night cap running into my great friends Brad and Steve. It was great to catch each other up on how our weeks all went. We had a nice time at Hef's Hut in Vernon.

Later Friday night I ended up on my couch watching NFL Network having a special on former player Michael Vick, and it was fascinating to watch. You may remember him going to jail in the prime of his career for his involvement with a dog fighting ring. It was remarkable to see the work he's doing to help dogs after he has been released from prison. It was quite the flashback seeing Andy Reid the then Philadelphia Eagles coach be the one giving Michael Vick a second chance in the NFL. The special was absolutely fascinating. So ironic that 10 years later, Andy Reid now coach of the Kansas City Chiefs will be coaching against his old team, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Saturday morning was pretty productive between dry cleaning drop off / pick up and laundry. I even hit up Target down 23, but left pretty quickly the line was insanely long. After some grocery shopping I ended up at The Cottage in Franklin for a beer. I ran into one of their rock star waitresses named Morgan. She's probably 21, and her weekend plans were dramatically different than mine. My goal / plan was to stay home, and spend Saturday night watching skiers and snowboarders from my deck. Morgan's plan? Going to the city and clubbing with her friends at a place that doesn't close until 5AM! I literally winced and yelled in pain when she told me about that. That wasn't the only thing that made me feel a quite old 41. She gave me a "silly band bracelet," which she was planning to give out to random new friends at the club. I then asked The Cottage's Shannon about this "silly band bracelet," that I had never heard of before. She knew all about it quickly saying it was so popular when she was growing up that schools had to ban these left and right. I was blown away by all of this world that was foreign to me. I am thankful for my "silly band bracelet," from Morgan and now all of the new things I have learned about these things.

Saturday night I was happy to watch skiers and snowboarders from my deck. The weather was absolutely gorgeous! Saturday driving by Crystal Springs I could see folks happily golfing at Wild Turkey. When these events happen it makes me so happy. I always tell folks that this happens a couple of times a year, where one minute I can watch skiers and snowboarders at Mountain Creek, then seven minutes later enjoy golfers golfing at Crystal Springs. I always ask "how many places in America can you live and be able to say that?" I'm so grateful to love where I live. Then I found out that my Boston Celtics were on tv playing against the Los Angeles Lakers! Success. I was happy to use that game as my Saturday night lullaby, and then the next morning saw the controversial missed foul by us on Lebron James. Sorry! On to the next one.

Sunday morning I did some errands, then friends Carrie, Christine and Chris invited me to watch football with them. I figured it's basically the last football Sunday of the season more or less, so why not enjoy their company. Even though my original goal / plan was to just enjoy the game relaxing by myself at home, it was a much better time getting to hang out with my friends instead of just being solo. Saturday night I stayed in and was solo anyway. It was good to stay in, but Sunday reminded me that friends can really be so beneficial in helping put you in better spirits.

The football games didn't go the way I wanted. I wanted either the Cincinnati Bengals to win or the San Francisco 49ers. ABP - ANYONE BUT PHILLY! Ugh Eagles fans are the worst. If Cincy were to win the Super Bowl, it would be their first Super Bowl win in team history. If the 49ers would have won the Super Bowl, it would have been the first time a rookie Quarterback to win a Super Bowl, also the first ever third string Quarterback, and first ever last draft pick! Talk about a Hollywood movie in the making. Well, that didn't work out so well when he was injured during the game. I felt so bad for the guy. He and his teammates were all crushed when poor Brock Purdy couldn't even throw the football at all. Ugh. So now I have to root for the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes because ABP - ANYONE BUT PHILLY!

Then today I had a nice one mile run on the Alter G Treadmill at Trinity Rehab in Sparta. Kate and her team of rock stars were fantastic as always. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Time to start planning next weekend!
