Northern New Jersey is preparing for another round of heavy rainfall this weekend, following last week’s damaging floods. Governor Phil Murphy has warned that heavy rain and localized flooding are expected to start tonight and could continue into the weekend.

The forecast for Sussex County indicates rain on Saturday with a high temperature of 65 degrees and a low of 42 degrees. An inch of rain or more is possible before the weather is expected to clear up by Sunday.

The northeast region of New Jersey, including Bergen, Hudson, Passaic, and Essex counties, could be hit the worst.

Governor Murphy has urged residents to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions. “We are not expecting rain totals as extreme as last week,” he said. “However, any additional rainfall on our already saturated grounds could lead to more flooding.”
