What a wonderful weekend! This is definitely an Epic Weekend In Pictures that I'll never forget. Our first every 12 Strays Of Christmas was an amazing success. There are so many people who helped make this tremendous. The pet food & supply drive drop off locations, Scotty's Automotive on 206 in Montague, Sussex Rural Electric, Industry Kitchen & Bar in Sparta were fantastic. This never would've been possible without their help. Everything we collected over the past few weeks will go to Father John's Animal House, OSCAR, and Sussex County Division Of Social Services food pantry. We know times are tough for so many. We know some will feed their pets before they even feed themselves. We want to help! When I came up with our idea of 12 Strays Of Christmas, I wanted to have a fun Facebook Live video where we showcase 12 adoptable pets at the same exact time. We were able to do a Facebook Live video simulcast on each of our stations, 102.3 WSUS, 103.7 NNJ, and 106.3 The Bear!
Father John's Animal House and their team were absolutely spectacular in helping make this dream of mine happen. They have been terrific in helping pick up the donations so our drop off locations aren't flooded with pet food and supplies. Father John's Animal House had a great plan with us for the social media video. Team work was fantastic. Borasio and Steve Andrews, both animal lovers, did a phenomenal job with our video. These videos with pets can be pretty unpredictable and challenging. I'm so proud of how great our video came out I'm honestly still pinching myself. We'll update you on how many of these friends we're able to get adopted as we get updates from Father John's.
Our video started with pup Elliott who brought a ton of energy charging out of the gates. He was a perfect friend to be the first of our 12 Strays Of Christmas. I'm so proud of how great it went. Many people went above and beyond to make this all happen.
Right after the Facebook Live video at Father John's Animal House, it was time to make our way over to Subaru World Of Newton. Steve Andrews and I were there from 11-1 giving out fun prizes every ten minutes. We had a fantastic turnout and it was great to meet new friends and see some old ones too. It was Subaru's Share The Love event, and we definitely felt the love! Steve Andrews and I had tons of fun that's for sure!
I then went over to Audi Newton to see our stations give away tickets to one of my favorite artists, Luke Combs at MetLife Stadium. It was fun to see so many happy people, some of us came over from Subaru World. I joked "long time no see," with a few of them.
During down time during the event, I went over to QuickCheck on 206 in Newton to get some gas into our WSUS car. The minute I asked for $10 regular, the gentleman attendant immediately said "hey you're the radio guy right?" It was great to meet Shawn in person. You never know who you're going to run into while driving around these parts. I got back to Audi Newton just in time to see our grand prize Luke Combs giveaway happen. It was quite a nice, beautiful Saturday December afternoon.
Saturday night I had an early night in. I'll be less tired in a couple of days. We had tons of events happening back to back to back. My Weekends might tend to be Epic, even for me this was so much happening.
Sunday was a low key football Sunday at The Cottage. Normally when the Patriots are more competitive I prefer to watch alone so I don't annoy people with my yelling. Now with the Patriots not usually being overly competitive this year, I don't mind watching with friends instead of being alone. I think all of our football teams were losing at the same time. Misery definitely liked company.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. With Christmas and New Year's both happening on Mondays, there might be a break from my Epic Weekend In Pictures on here. I'll still be posting in real time throughout the weekend on my Instagram Story, @SteveAllanRadio.
I hope you have a great holiday season!
