Well this was definitely a rather Epic Weekend, that's for sure. Tough to believe sometimes that I've been here in Jersey for 10 years. For some it's even tougher to believe that despite being able to watch skiers and snowboarders from my deck, I don't know how to ski or snowboard. Growing up in Mansfield, Massachusetts, there weren't too many ski slopes near to us.
This wasn't my technically very first time learning how to ski. Last time I did one of our Facebook Live Steve Allan Learns To Ski At Mountain Creek videos, I had a fantastic time. I graduated all the way from Terrain Based Learning to The Sugar Slope at Mountain Creek. It was exciting and exhilarating, all while being slightly intimidating and scary at times. The last time we were able to do this video was February in 2020. Almost 4 years have gone by, so I was intrigued to see if this was really like riding a bicycle, ie never forgetting.
There were some things in skiing I didn't remember, and there were some things I did remember 4 years later. I absolutely had a wonderful experience and can't wait to get back out there on the slopes again! For years I've watched skiers and snowboarders from my deck having fun, and this year I want to be one of them.
I will admit, watching the video after we did it I said aloud to work bestie Shawn "was I really going that slow? Is this in slow motion? It felt like I was going MUCH faster than that!" Ah well. All good. I'm still pretty happy with how our video came out.
I then spent the rest of my weekend seeing friends whenever possible. I think a random bug hit me Saturday, I was in bed late Saturday afternoon and didn't even see either of the NFL Playoff games. Fortunately the next morning I woke up feeling back to normal.
I had a great time seeing friends and watching football with them. Sunday afternoon I was able to enjoy the game at Jimmy Geez North with my besties Christine and Chris. We enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys get absolutely crushed by the Green Bay Packers. We then ventured back to The Irish Cottage Inn for the 8pm game, where we had fun watching the LA Rams take on the Detroit Lions. God bless those Detroit Lions fans, they've been waiting so long to host a playoff game, let alone win the playoff game.
Monday I was able to get some more errands done and then ran into some of my friends at The Cottage. We all enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game. It was entertaining to see everything so covered in snow.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Time to start planning next weekend, hopefully I'll be making my return back to Mountain Creek!
