The IRS Direct File option will now be available to New Jersey taxpayers

More than 1 million New Jersey taxpayers will soon be able to file their Federal and State Income Tax returns for free. This week Governor Murphy announced New Jersey is joining the IRS Direct File Program for 2025. Direct File is designed to make filing taxes, receiving refunds and credits much easier. If you file simple federal and state tax forms. The governor was joined by Department of Treasury Deputy Secretary Wally Adeyamo when he made the announcement. Murphy said: "Government is supposed to make life easier not harder. For too long our outdated process for filing taxes have created unnecessary difficulties for too many families."
