My Epic Weekend In Pictures: Twas The Weekend Before Christmas!

This one will be a quicky so I can start packing. Hitting the road to see my family hopefully arriving Christmas Eve night and back next weekend! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

We will start this Epic Weekend In Pictures with a quick, funny, rather embarrassing story. All week, my work wife Shawn and I agreed that we we would do a little coworker happy hour at Industry in Sparta. Not a big deal, we try to do this once a month. Team building at its finest, especially when at Industry in Sparta! Shawn told me all along that we would try to pull it off either Thursday or Friday night. I told her that both could work, even though Friday night would be a little bit better for me. Thursday I wore my rather infamous ugly sweater that has cats on it, and says "Meowy Christmas." This sweater gets plenty of attention, both good and bad. I know, how I manage to stay single is a mystery to me too! I have had this sweater for probably 7 years now at this point. I wear it 1-3 times per Christmas season, and have definitely got my money's worth out of it. I probably purchased it at a Walmart or Target 7 years ago for around $25. I wear it at least once during Pet Of The Week. With Thanksgiving being November 28th this year, the latest possible Thanksgiving Day, I knew it would throw everyone off. You basically lose a weekend. I rocked my Christmas Cat Sweater (yes, the irony of using words "rocked," and "Christmas Cat Sweater," in the same sentence isn't lost on me.)

Right after I got done wrapping up my Pet Of The Week production, Shawn said to me "oh do you know your time frame yet?" I said "my timeframe for what?" She said "Industry?" I yelled at her "WE'RE DOING THAT TONIGHT?!?!" She said "oh no, do you have other plans now? I'm so sorry we forgot to tell you." I said "I can make other plans to see besties Jasen and Brendan another time, my issue is if you at least told me this was a possibility that we were going to INDUSTRY I WOULD HAVE AT LEAST BROUGHT A CHANGE OF SHIRT!!!!"

Industry Kitchen & Bar in Sparta is a nice, fun place with tons of ambiance. I walked into a nice, packed place where most people were dressed up nicely. I strutted right through with my Cat Sweater on. This wasn't a situation where you thought and felt like all eyes were on you. People were literally turning their heads to look at my ridiculously hilarious sweater! Talk about hilarious indeed. Like they say, it showed some confidence and maybe craziness that I ended up still going out with friends to Industry despite wearing that sweater.

Friday morning was like an early Christmas morning for me. They started the snow guns on my mountain at Mountain Creek! One of my favorite times all year is when the snow guns are on Granite Peak, I love watching them from my deck. Best white noise ever! When I hit the lottery someday, my goal is to buy snow guns and run them year round even during the summer time to help me sleep better!

Should I try learning how to ski again this year? Last year's 3 attempts did show me making some improvements...we will see, stay tuned!

Friday night it was great catching up with besties Brad and Steve. Great overdue catch up night with them. It was my first time seeing Steve since he became a grandfather, and you could see him glowing with pride. It wasn't a crazy late night for me, I knew there would be some fun activities ahead despite the cold weather.

We were supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow in Vernon. I woke up to 5 inches of snow. Ah well. I brushed off my car, which with the cold wind and powdery snow made things much colder than I originally anticipated. One of those bitter cold wake up kind of days. Jack Frost is nipping at our noses, that's for sure!

I ventured over to Nielsen Nissan in Byram/Stanhope on 206. It was great to see my friend Bill Snouffer, Steve Andrews, and work wife bestie Shawn.

Oh that reminds me about Thursday night at Industry while I was wearing my cat sweater. Shawn and I ran into our dear friend Lynn Snouffer. We had a great time catching up, and Lynn enjoyed a good laugh over my silly sweater. She then casually mentioned that Bill Snouffer was on his way to join them for dinner. I said "oh no, Bill loves to bust on me, now he's going to see me in this too?" Surely enough, Bill got a good chuckle out of seeing my silly sweater. He asked if I would be swinging by Nielsen Nissan for their meet Santa event, and I told Bill "Yes Bill, I'll see you Caturday morning!" He then said "Bartender, I know Steve Allan hasn't even had anything to drink yet but we need to cut him off now already!" Good comedy gold.

Santa said I should definitely be getting moved over from the Naughty List to the Nice List!!! We will see if that happens!

I did some Christmas shopping throughout the weekend that was pretty successful.

Sunday I enjoyed football Sunday with delicious wings from the Irish Cottage Inn. Overall success when I wasn't staying indoors to remain warm.

Time to start packing! Thank you so much for reading my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Time to start planning next weekend!
