Property taxes in New Jersey continue to be sky high. For the first time in our history the average New Jersey property tax bill in New Jersey topped ten thousand dollars! To be exact the average was $10,095. The counties paying the most were Essex, Bergen and Morris. The average property tax bill in Essex County topped $13,000. In Sussex County the average property tax bill now tops $8,650.
