An unexploded World War Two bomb was discovered at low tide in the Cape May Canal Monday night. The canal was built during World War Two and used by navy ships to safely enter the Atlantic Ocean. It is still used today by commuter ferries and private boats. The Delaware River and Bay Authority called the Coast Guard when the bomb was discovered. A bomb squad from Atlantic City was able to disarm the still dangerous 80 year old relic. Ferry service on the Cape May-Lewes Ferry was suspended Monday Night. One ferry on it's way to Cape May was turned back to Lewes inconveniencing about 70 passengers. I wonder if there are any more unexploded bombs in the canal?
