The Skylands March for Babies is Sunday

This will be the 6th year I will be helping to kick off the Skylands March for Babies at the Sussex County Fairgrounds.  Every year March of Dimes research leads to more knowledge about how to prevent premature birth and how to help babies who are born too soon survive. Every day I am grateful my kids are strong and healthy.

Back in 1994 my daughter Kim was born with a serious infection and had to spend most of the first two weeks of her life in Chilton Hospital and Newton Memorial Hospital. I remember how afraid I was when she was born sick and how relieved I was when the infection ended. Our struggle lasted two weeks but it felt like forever. Parents of children born weeks and even months to soon struggle much longer.

On the bright side more children survive serious illness or premature birth each year because of the March of Dimes. My daughter and I walk together at the Sussex County Fairgrounds every year. This Sunday will also be the second time my grand daughter Gracie comes with us. There's still time to tell your friends, ask for donations and join us.
