Yesterday I was leaving my place in Vernon, when pulling out onto 94, a BEAR literally ran across the road jumping in front of my Jeep. Even though I was going under 15 mph (literally had just taken my left turn onto 94,) my Jeep Compass still needed to go into a screeching halt for the first time I've had it in 7 months. The thoughts that were running into my mind: hope I'm okay, hope my car is okay, and hope the BEAR is okay. Can you imagine the headlines of "Steve Allan of all people driving into a BEAR with his car?" YIKES! Here are some Black Bear safety tips, which sadly don't really help my predicament from yesterday.
