Joan Jett Breaks into Rock's Boys' Club in 'Bad Reputation'

Bad Reputation, a documentary about Joan Jett's career, depicts how she struggled to break into a male dominated genre during the 1970's. It's a far-cry from The Runaways, the glossy 2010 biopic that focused on both Jett and Cherie Currie.

The 2-minute trailer touches on Jett's ambitions, Rolling Stone slamming the Runaways and how people went from calling her "cute" and "sweet" to labeling her a "slut."

“What Jimi Hendrix said about how women playing rock and roll would be looked at like 'aliens' is absolutely true,” says Jett.

Bad Reputation in theaters and on streaming services like iTunes and Amazon Prime Video on September 28.
