Project Help launching Toy Drive for children of local Veterans

Project Help of Sussex County just launched their third annual toy drive for the children of local veterans. For the last three years, they have had a Santa Shop shortly before Christmas. The families of local veterans come in for a celebration and the kids go off to a play area. Parents are then escorted to a room set up as a shop where toys are separated by gender favorites and age.

Parents come equipped with large plastic bags and shop for free until it’s all gone. Last year there were even some special items for the parents to take for themselves.

They have a blast, and as they leave the room, there are tears of joy in their eyes. Now Christmas morning will be special where before this event, it was going to be bleak. We are asking for donations of toys, to be dropped off at Project Help, 55 Bank St., Sussex NJ 07461. If no one is in, leave on the porch. Or you can to go Extreme Energy Solution, 17 Main St., Sparta or the American Legion post 289 in West Milford to drop off. The last date to drop off is December 7, 2018.

If you prefer to donate money or a gift card, please send it to Project Help, 55 Bank St., Sussex NJ 07461. All donations are tax deductible according to IRS laws.
