Reusable straws are one of the most popular accessories people are buying right now. This shouldn't surprise you. Cities like New York and Miami are considering banning single use plastic straws. Starting today in Los Angeles you won't get a straw with your drink unless you ask for one. Environmentalists and people in the news media have been trying to convince Americans and Europeans to ban plastic straws to reduce plastic pollution in the world's oceans. The inconvenient fact is 90 percent of the plastic pollution in our oceans comes from Asia and Africa. However, many Americans want to feel good and be trendy so personal reusable are very popular right now. How popular? Etsy sells over 4,000 kinds of reusable straws on line. How much would you pay? On the fancy side you can buy a $68.00 straw with a rose quartz crystal on one end. Spending $95.00 of your hard earned money will get you a set of 6 brass straws in a fancy walnut holder. On the cheaper side for 18 bucks you can get 4 bamboo straws. Here's what I would do if using plastic straws really bothers you. Since we need a straw to help us get our drink through the ice.
