My "Home Body" Weekend in Pictures

Memorial Day Weekend is the first long weekend of summer. Many people head to the beach for a long awaited break. It's OK to have some enjoyment Memorial Day Weekend. It's also important to never forgot why we are able to have all the good things freedom and liberty bring. I choose to be home and reconnect with my family. Each day of the weekend I work on projects around the house and have a few special moments with my kids and grand kids. Being good to my family and giving back to the community are the best ways to appreciate those who never came home from combat. This weekend I opened the pool, power washed the decks, visited friends and did a lot of work in the garden. Sunday morning at church we remembered those who died for our country. By the time the weekend was over my pool was open. Playing with Miss Gracie in the water was a blast. I planted a flower bed behind my newly stained side deck. Transferred my oregano and basil to large pots. I took my daughter shopping. My daughter entered a contest for a free box of Lucky Charms Marshmallows and won. There's also a picture of the Pennsylvania Welcome Center in Matamoras. It's place no one in Matamoras ever visits because we already live in Pennsylvania. I stopped in to get information for our trip to Hershey next month. I was amazed at how nice it is. The people were friendly and the place was spotless. The picnic area outside really impressed me too. I'll be back again to have a quiet picnic lunch there very soon.
