Sheriff Strada plans to defy N.J. Attorney General

Sussex County Sheriff Mike Strada continues to push back against New Jersey's Attorney General. Gurbir Grewel has ordered law enforcement in New Jersey not to cooperate with Federal Immigration and Customs Officials. This week, with the backing of the Sussex County Freeholder Board, Strada said he plans to tell federal immigration officials when there is an "immigration inmate." Then hold them until I.C.E. can pick them up. The New Jersey Herald quotes a statement by Strada which says:"I will not jeopardize the safety of the citizens of our county." Sussex County Freeholder Dawn Fantasia is quoted in the same article saying the freeholder board is "steadfast in our support of Sheriff Mike Strada."
