The epidemic of heroin use is putting another young life at risk. This past Monday morning Sparta Police were called to a home in Sparta Lake. The homeowner called to report an unwanted visitor. When police arrived they found 20 year old Julia Catone of Closter hiding behind a bath tub in the home holding a hypodermic needle in her fist. According to the police report the home owner called because Catone would not leave when she was asked to and was acting "erratically." Several empty packets of what was believed to be heroin were also found on the bathroom floor. Police also discovered Catone had an outstanding warrant from Closter. After a trips to police headquarters and Newton Medical Center she was taken to the Sussex County jail.
