Three Paterson men accused of multiple motorcycle thefts

Three men from Paterson are accused of breaking into two Sussex County motorcycle shops in September and October. All three appeared before Superior Court Judge Peter Conforti yesterday in Newton. Assistant Sussex County Prosecutor Laura Nazzaro has filed multiple charges against all three men including burglary, criminal mischief and theft. All three men allegedly broke into Cycle Exchange in Andover on two separate occasions and stole a total of three motorcycles. Two of the men are accused of returning to Cycle Exchange a third time to steal a fourth motorcycle. The three men are also accused of yet another break in attempt. On October 29th they allegedly broke a window at Motorcycle Madness on Route 94 in Lafayette but did not steal anything. 19 year old Jose Lopez Nieves was released by Judge Conforti because he was "cooperative" with authorities after his arrest. The judge ordered 28 year old Erickson Polanco-Ramos be held in jail because he has a history of failing to appear in court. The third defendant is 36 year old Xavier Oquendo Pizzaro has requested a Spanish language translator for court proceedings so his hearing will take place on Wednesday.
