Season of Hope Toy Drive has started

I always say Sussex County is a very generous place. Every year I see this first hand during Stuff the Bus. When we head out to help the Sussex County Division of Social Services fill their food pantry, There's another campaign that also shows how generous all of you are. It's Project Self Sufficiency's Season of Hope Holiday Toy Drive. Yesterday honorary co-chairs Jim and Dee Fernandez stopped by WSUS for an interview. This year's goal is to collect 20,000 toys for kids who are infants to teens. Last year 3,000 needy kids in Sussex and Warren Counties received toys from this one toy drive. Donation boxes are out at business all around Sussex, Warren and Morris Counties. Many local fire departments also have donation boxes this year. The very nice part is that parents and guardians get to actually shop for the toys their kids want. Project Self Sufficiency sets up a holiday toy shop and puts all the toys on display. Parents have to register in advance to be able to shop. This is the only week to stop by Project Self Sufficiency in Newton with your proof of income and residency. Visit Project Self Sufficiency's website for the hours they're open or click on the link below.
