Phoenix Mother Reportedly Confesses To Killing Her Three Young Children

Three young children were found dead in a Phoenix, Arizona home, and their mother reportedly confessed to killing them. Officers were called to the house and found a three-year-old boy, a two-year-old girl, and a seven-month-old girl unresponsive. Paramedics attempted to revive the children but were unsuccessful, and they were pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said they do not know how the children died and are waiting for the coroner to perform an autopsy.

"Investigators are trying to determine how they died," the Phoenix Police Department said in a statement. "There are no obvious signs of trauma to the children, and so investigators will interview the parents as they try to piece together what caused this tragedy."

The family initially told police the children had come down with a mysterious illness earlier in the day. After speaking with investigators, the children's 22-year-old mother reportedly confessed to killing her kids and was taken into custody. She is facing three charges of first-degree murder. Authorities have not identified the woman or said why she killed her own kids.

"This is one of the most difficult calls that officers and fire respond to, ones dealing with young ones who have lost their lives," Phoenix Police Sgt. Mercedes Fortune said.
