My "Grandson's Baptism" weekend in pictures

Almost 30 years have passed since I started doing the morning show on 1023 WSUS. Everyday I turn on the microphone is like spending time with family. Sharing wonderful my family's moments with my radio audience is a great joy to me. Most of this past weekend was spent planning for the Baptism of my 7 week old grandson Christopher. My daughter and her boyfriend Jimmy asked his cousin Jeannie and her husband John to be Christopher's god parents. They traveled from Long Island Sunday morning with their family to join us at The United Methodist Church of Matamoras. We had a small family gathering at my house Sunday afternoon to celebrate. My sons Matt and James were at the church with their girlfriends and came to my house too. During the Baptism Christopher was very calm. Everyone in our family could tell Pastor Diane loved holding him. While shopping for the spread for the party I can across a trendy cooking magazine that featured dishes that can be made in a cast iron frying pan. My steak made in a cast iron frying pan last weekend lost to Steve Allan's steak made on an electric grill in our latest WSUS Facebook Poll. Well actually Steve's steak crushed my steak 80 to 20 percent. I am posting a picture here because I'm not over this loss. Grill marks aren't everything! On Saturday afternoon I did one home project I'm pretty proud of too. We've been wondering why my kitchen is always cold while the rest of the house is warm. Last week I think I discovered the answer. Ice cold air is getting in through our new air conditioner. It was like having a window open. So Saturday afternoon I sealed off the air conditioner with insulating plastic. Visually, I was pretty proud of the end result. When I got up this morning the kitchen was much warmer. There's nothing better than a successful home repair project!
