Deadly Crash Involving Vernon Man Delays Reconstruction of Gas Station

Close-Up Of Fuel Pump At Gas Station

The reconstruction of a Delta gas station in Wayne has been stalled due to a deadly car crash last year. According to the NorthJersey.com, plans for gas station call for it to be totally rebuilt with twice as many pumps and each fuel island will be protected by U-shaped bollards.

The Planning Board reportedly approved work on the gas station in December 2017 but those plans were delayed due to "economic issues" and then because of the 2019 car accident which killed Jon Warbeck, 50, Luke Warbeck, 17, and Lovedeep Fatra, 22.

The driver, Jason Vanderee, survived the crash and was allegedly under the influence of heroin at the time of the accident. Vanderee, 30, is facing charges of aggravated manslaughter, death by auto, and vehicular homicide.
