Coronavirus Update: N.J. N.Y. Pa. March 20 2020

As expected the number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus continued to climb in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. New Jersey now has 742 confirmed cases and 9 deaths. Sussex County has 4 cases and Warren County has 2. Yesterday, Governor Murphy ordered all personal care businesses to close. Those businesses include: barber shops, hair salons, tattoo parlors and social clubs. The New Jersey State legislature passed a series of bills aimed at helping workers and businesses who will suffer financial losses because of the crisis.

In New York State Coronavirus cases reached 4,152. 20 people have died. The number of cases in New York City has reached 3,615. President Trump has ordered the U.S. Navy Hospital Ship "Comfort" to New York City to help take patients if needed. In Orange County the community of Kiryas Joel reported 10 new cases yesterday. Authorities fear there may be many more in the crowded Orthodox Jewish community. Governor Cuomo has ordered even more restrictions on businesses. He has mandated that 75 apercent of the workforce in non essential businesses must work from home.

Pennsylvania's Governor Wolf ordered all "non life sustaining" businesses across the state to close by 8 PM yesterday. The number of Coronavirus cases in Pennsylvania is now over 180. One person has died.
