Governor Murphy's 6 step plan to re-open New Jersey's economy was met with immediate criticism from 24th District representatives yesterday afternoon. State Senator Steve Oroho and Assemblyman Parker Space and Hal Wirth's all sent out separate press releases expressing frustration with the pace of the governor's plan. Oroho said Governor Murphy "Should have more faith in the 10's of thousands of businesses that already have plans that would allow them to re-open safely." The release went on the say the Governor "offered only a vague outline for re-opening New Jersey's economy with no real plan." In his release Assemblyman Parker Space said "So once again all the Governor has to say is that he has no real plan to open things up in New Jersey or restore our rights that were taken from us. It's more like a road block than a road back." Assemblyman Wirths said: "Everybody I talk to is feeling hopeless about their future. They expected a real plan today by Governor Murphy that would show them how to put food on the table. The buck seems to have been passed on." The Governor's six step plan starts with 4 steps that must be completed first: A continuing downward trend in new cases, expanding testing capacity. boosting contact tracing and ensuring safe places for residents with the virus to isolate. The next two steps would be restarting the economy responsibly and ensuring resiliency. The Governor said:"We will move as quickly as we can but as safely as we must." Yesterday the Sussex County Health Department announced 19 new cases of corona virus and two more deaths. Sussex County has had 876 reported cases and 93 deaths.
