Senate President wants more N.J. businesses open by Memorial Day

New Jersey Senate President Steve Sweeney says there are many New Jersey businesses that can follow C.D.C. guidelines. Those businesses include car dealerships, construction companies and elective surgeries. Sweeney told the Star Ledger editorial board "We've got to open by Memorial Day as many businesses as we can safely." He went on to say: "The governor has done a good job flattening the curve. Now we have to start moving forward with the economy." The governor has formed a commission to oversee a gradual re-opening as long as corona virus cases continue to drop. Sweeney is a Democrat who represents Gloucester County in the New Jersey State Senate.
