My "Happy Mom" Weekend in Pictures

Well, before I say anything else, the cold nighttime weather turned all my garden projects last weekend to an epic fail. So the first place I went to this weekend was the garden store. This time I'll wait until next weekend to plant my impatiens. This weekend there were many successes too. My daughter Kim gave me a pretty good haircut. Of course, there's not much to cut anymore. We finished watching "Outer Banks"on Netflix. Even though it was cold I managed to clear and turn the soil for my vegetable beds. I joined my cousins for another fun Sunday virtual happy hour too. On Mother's Day we tried our best to get my daughter Kim to relax but it didn't work very well. She did get a few hours of time to doze off on the couch with Christopher and Maddie. Grandma and grandpa had an unplanned chance to help mommy get some rest on Saturday night. We found Miss Gracie getting herself a midnight snack late Saturday Night. We stayed up with her until she finally fell back to sleep around 1 AM. The Mother's Day dinner choice for Kim and her mom Denise (grandma) was Kentucky Fried Chicken. So Kim's boyfriend drove to Middletown, New York to get us two $20.00 fill ups. Somehow with the extras our bill was $67.00 but the good news is we have plenty of left overs. Unless, they hit them for lunch before I get home. My son James stopped by with some wonderful chocolate covered strawberries for his mom and sister too. I managed not to eat one before I went to bed. That may change this afternoon. After dinner I binge watched the 1969 World Series on SNY. It was like something that happened more than 50 years ago was new again. At 8 years old, I was just getting to understand baseball when the Mets won the World Series in 1969. Watching Tom Seaver, Gary Gentry, Nolan Ryan, Tommie Agee and Don Clendennon all over again was a a surprise gift for me this weekend. What really stood out for me was how many people dressed up to go to a baseball game back then. Most of the men in the stands were actually wearing suits and ties!
